On January 01st, 2016 Le Quang Tung, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province presented at Tuan Chau harbor to inspect pickups in there. Previously, on December 31st, 2015, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long also examined the preparations of Tuan Chau Group and related units for the relocation of cruise ship in Tuan Chau port.
On December 18th, 2015, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee issued Decision No. 4036 / QD-UBND on taking Bai Chay Harbour out of planning port and cruise ship terminals system for sightseeing Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay and stopping the operation of the ships at Bai Chay Port from January 01st, 2016.

Tuan Chau International Port will serve visitors to Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, Cat Ba Island and receive foreign cruiship (under Decision No. 3465 / QD-BGTVT on
September 25th, 2015 of the Ministry of Transport). Tuan Chau International Port includes two wharf areas with operational capacity in the period of 2016-2020 and the next period of 2020- 2030 of 5 million passengers / year.
Tuan Chau Group invested more than 10 trillion VND to build Tuan Chau International Port with the scale of 200 hectares, over 7km long berth, enough space for 2,000 cruise ships docking safely and conveniently . The port which is designed and built modernly, formal and professional style of service will meet the demands of tourism and improve transport capacity of Halong bay.
